Kickstarter Project: Golden Age Of Piracy
Now, finally, the line art for Issue 2 is completed (pending further edits). Our interior artist this time around is Juanito Arceneaux, the artist for the indy hit Dwarves vs. Lions. The funding goal this time around is lower. All funds go to coloring (our colorist is Marcos Martins this time around. Gorgeous work!), lettering from Eric Weathers, production, and distribution. Hopefully, if we can exceed our goal, we can get a head start on Issue 3.
Issue 1 saw Cyrus being mysteriously kidnapped by the pirates of Hazard. Now, he is going to have to learn how to survive in the underworld of the 31st Century, which will definitely challenge his rigid sense of right and wrong.
Missed Issue 1? NOT A PROBLEM! We are offering Issue 1 as an add on, as well as a special and limited TWO FOR ONE SPECIAL!!! Get in while the getting is good!
This Issue is going to be 25 pages long. Issue 1 was also that length. Initially, these two were actually one issue, but I had to split it into two for cost reasons. I'd like to increase the size of the issues going forward, but it will require MORE FUNDING (gasp).
The ultimate goal is to make this story an 8 Issue arc at least. I am hoping to get this going as a franchise. I have been imagining this world and concepts going on almost 20 years now (good Lord). And I'd like to be able to produce these more than once every two years.
This campaign is very basic and straightforward. In order to mitigate potential delays or complications, I am not offering too many add ons. I am mainly offering 3 posters that you can tack on to your order.
Click on a reward and choose from the add ons to assemble your perfect order! You are the producer/customer. I will do everything I can to ensure your mind is blown. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.
Our goal is set precisely to what we need and I am setting the delivery date to January 2024. I am intending to get the book done and mailed out to you much sooner, but I am setting the date far in advance on the outside chance of major delays.
One thing I have learned working in film and comics is that Murphy's Law of Effect is very real and must be accounted.
Outlaw Nights is a comic series being crowdfunded on Indiegogo.com. We are seeking backers who are fans of space opera, western, cyberpunk, and heist stories. This is a genre blend that delivers brutal action and intrigue. A new world to get lost in. Please note that this story is for ages 17+.
New Orleans, LA, November 10, 2022 --(PR.com)-- A blend of space opera, western, thriller, action, heist, and adventure. Welcome to the underworld of the 31st Century. Humanity has been colonizing planets throughout our galaxy and have just breached into others. However, history is very much repeating itself as the nations of earth are at each other's throats. Competition over territory and resources has given birth to a chaotic and tumultous time. As a result, a new Golden Age of Piracy has come into form. Big Brother cannot span the endless ocean of stars.
Our hero Cyrus Lawson is a refugee from the now destroyed nation of the United States. After a harsh 18 years of life, he has finally settled on a small, out of the way British colony known as Terez. Naive and heroic in nature, he seeks to live his life as a small town hero joining the Colony Guard. However, his dreams are ripped right from under him as the pirates of the ship, Hazard, invades Terez. Bit and Fusebox probe the archives of an Art Gallery that contain a hidden piece of data. This data will lead to a treasure that will turn everything on its head. Kodiak (and secretly, Serpent) run crowd control, but are challenged by our hero. In the resulting chaos, Serpent mysteriously takes Cyrus aboard Hazard as they make their escape. Now, Cyrus must learn how to survive the Pirate's Life, contend with his personal hatred for piracy itself and redefine his very black and white sense of right and wrong.
Genesis of a Renegade kicks off a 10 Issue Arc that brings us into the exciting future of Outlaw Nights. Back Issue 2 and get ready for Issue 3. They're just getting started.
Kickstarter project: Golden Age of PiracyOutlaw Nights is Fuseboxx Entertainment's first foray into the entertainment space. We are committed to creating comics crowdfunded by its readers, who have direct communication with us to critique and suggest what they would like to see.
The story is set in the 31st century where humanity has colonized outer space. Despite technological advancements, nations on Earth are engaged in territorial and resource conflicts. The colonies, strangled by Earth's control attempts, experience a rise in crime, leading to a new Golden Age of Piracy. The main character, Cyrus Lawson, seeks a simple life as a "small town hero" and joins the colony guard in a settlement called Terez. However, his expectations are shattered when the notorious pirate captain Ivory and the crew of the ship Hazard invade, searching for a valuable data fragment that leads to a game-changing treasure.
The Kickstarter campaign for "Outlaw Nights" is introduced by writer/producer Ben Fuselier. The campaign aims to fund the completion of Issue 2, featuring artwork by Juanito Arceneaux and coloring by Marcos Martins. The campaign offers backers the opportunity to obtain Issue 1 as an add-on or through a special two-for-one deal. The goal is to make "Outlaw Nights" an 8-issue arc and establish it as a franchise. Fuselier expresses the need for funding to increase the size and frequency of future issues. The campaign presents basic rewards and limited add-ons, such as posters, with the intention of minimizing potential delays. Fuselier assures backers that risks are being mitigated and sets a delivery date of January 2024, although he aims to complete and ship the book earlier. The campaign provides contact information and encourages supporters to join the adventure.
Humanity has been colonizing outer space. History is very much repeating itself, as the nations of earth are at each other's throats, competing over territory and resources. Technology, extremism, and polarity have advanced, but the issues are very much the same.
In spite of earth's attempt to stranglehold the colonies is backfiring, as the vast expanse of space has given birth to a new Golden Age of Piracy. Crime is booming. In the midst of the chaos of government and rebellions galore, we have our main character: Cyrus Lawson. Cyrus has had a rough upbringing and is seeking a life as a "small town hero." He has joined the colony guard of a small, insignificant settlement known as Terez. He figures that he won't have to deal with anything serious...he is very wrong...
The pirates of the ship Hazard, led by the infamous captain known simply as Ivory, are invading the settlement seeking a special data fragment. This will lead them to a treasure that is a complete game changer.
My name is Ben Fuselier. I am a writer/producer from New Orleans, La. Two years ago, I launched Outlaw Nights: Genesis of a Renegade Part 1 on Indiegogo. We had fantastic success! Then life happened...

The mid-afternoon energy dip is a familiar foe: concentration wanes, eyelids droop and your to-do list looks suddenly uphill. Many people reach for a coffee or energy drink — an immediate and familiar fix. But there’s another approach that delivers a different kind of payoff: using a standing workstation to interrupt prolonged sitting, stimulate circulation and sustain alertness. This article compares standing desks with caffeine, explains when each method works best, and shows how to combine both strategies with smart routines and the right equipment for long-lasting productivity.
ReplyDeleteBest Stand Up Desk
When you think “best stand up desk” you’re usually picturing a straightforward, user-friendly surface that lets you get on your feet quickly. These models are often compact, easy to use and ideal for small home offices. The best stand up desk helps you break up long sitting blocks with minimal friction: quick height changes, a stable footprint and a surface that holds your essentials. For afternoon dips, the convenience of standing up — even for 10 to 20 minutes — can provide a non-caffeinated boost by increasing oxygenation and tiny muscle activations that raise alertness.
Vernal Standing Desk
Some buyers want a branded experience with clear warranty terms and accessory ecosystems. If you consider a Vernal standing desk, check the published specifications carefully: height span, lifting capacity, motor noise level and warranty length. A stable frame and robust lifting mechanism matter most for long-term satisfaction. Branded models often bundle cable trays, grommets and compatible monitor arms that make setup cleaner and faster, which is especially helpful when working in a shared living space.
Height Adjustable Desk
A height adjustable desk is the bridge between sitting and standing strategies. Because it lets you set tailored seated and standing heights, it reduces awkward postures that create fatigue. For afternoon slumps, use the height adjustable desk to create micro-routines: work 45–60 minutes seated, then raise the surface for 10–20 minutes of standing work, followed by brief movement. This pattern interrupts the physiological contributors to tiredness (reduced blood flow, static muscle loading) and complements other energy tactics like hydration or a short walk.
Standing L Desk
A standing L desk is especially useful for multitaskers who alternate between focused screen work and hands-on tasks (sketching, paperwork, or reviewing physical samples). That layout encourages repositioning: you can stand in one wing for review and sit in the other for deep editing. By designating the standing wing for lighter, review-style tasks, you make standing feel natural instead of disruptive — and that habitual variation combats late-day inertia without extra caffeine.
Executive Standing Desks
Executive standing desks offer large work surfaces and a commanding presence suitable for client calls and leadership tasks. These desks often encourage more standing because their size makes them ideal for spreading out materials and moving while presenting. If your afternoon slump coincides with meetings or review sessions, standing at an executive desk can increase vocal projection and engagement, which both raise energy levels more sustainably than a caffeine spike.
Best Standing Desk
ReplyDelete“Best standing desk” tends to mean a more refined solution: a unit with a wide height range, minimal wobble, and features that support daily sit–stand habits. A desk that’s pleasant to use will actually get used — the single most important criterion. When choosing the best standing desk for battling slumps, prioritize smooth transitions (so you can switch mid-task), an ergonomic keyboard height and a monitor mount that keeps your head neutral. Those little details preserve energy and reduce the micro-frictions that otherwise push you back to the caffeine habit.
Electric Adjustable Desk
Electric adjustable desks remove friction: one button and you’re standing. That convenience matters. Quick, effortless changes make it more likely you’ll adopt sit–stand cycles rather than defaulting to caffeine. For remote workers or teams in open-plan offices, electric adjustable desks with memory presets let you return to ideal ergonomic settings instantly — ideal for keeping productive momentum through a long afternoon. If you’re prone to grabbing multiple coffees, an electric desk can be the nudge you need to try movement first.
Standing Desk Wood
Choosing a standing desk wood top adds a tactile, warm surface that can influence mood positively. Material matters: natural wood tends to feel more inviting, and a pleasant workspace can indirectly reduce stress and mental fatigue. If you combine a wooden top with a stable, height adjustable frame, you get the aesthetic benefits without sacrificing ergonomics. That calm, comfortable environment helps you use standing as a restorative habit rather than an occasional stunt.
Vernal Reviews
If you’re evaluating branded options, check user feedback. A Vernal standing desk may offer features like quiet motors and integrated cable management that make sit–stand transitions less disruptive. Read Vernal reviews and other third-party feedback to learn about long-term stability and real-world ergonomics — those factors determine whether a desk can reliably help you beat the slump or become another underused purchase.
Practical tips for making standing work for you
Start with a realistic plan: schedule sit–stand intervals on your calendar, use your electric adjustable desk presets to avoid measurement guesswork, and choose a supportive anti-fatigue mat. If space is limited, the best stand up desk or a compact standing L desk can deliver many of the same benefits. Track how you feel over a week — energy, focus and sleep quality — and adjust caffeine timing accordingly.
Conclusion
Caffeine and standing desks are not adversaries — they are tools with different strengths. Caffeine is fast and familiar; standing is subtle and cumulative. For most people, a hybrid approach works best: use caffeine sparingly for acute demands and rely on a thoughtful sit–stand routine, backed by a good height adjustable or electric adjustable desk, to maintain steady energy. Read Vernal reviews or similar feedback if you’re evaluating models, prioritize stability and range, and build simple standing habits that outlast the novelty. Over time you’ll find a rhythm that keeps the afternoon slump from dictating your workday.
Standing Desk Guide for Beginners: What to Know Before You Buy
ReplyDeleteBuying your first standing workstation can feel exciting and a little overwhelming at the same time. The idea sounds simple enough: create a setup that lets you change posture, stay more comfortable, and reduce the strain that comes from sitting all day. In practice, though, there are a lot of details to think through before you choose one. Surface size, frame stability, height range, control style, and material all influence whether a desk will feel easy to use day after day.
This guide is built for beginners who want a clear, practical overview before making a purchase. Instead of focusing on flashy features, it walks through the basics that matter most in real life. If you understand those fundamentals first, you are much more likely to choose a workstation that fits your room, your workflow, and your body. The right choice should feel natural, not complicated.
The Best Stand Up Desk starts with the room you already have
Before comparing products, look at the space where the desk will actually live. Measure width, depth, nearby furniture, and the path you take when sitting down or standing up. A desk that looks great online may feel awkward if the room is too tight or if the desk blocks doors, drawers, or walking space. The best choice is one that fits naturally into the room rather than dominating it.
Think about how you work too. If your setup needs a laptop, external monitor, notebook space, and a lamp, the surface should support all of that without becoming cluttered. A beginner often benefits from a straightforward layout that leaves room to move. Simpler setups are easier to maintain, and easier setups are more likely to become part of a daily habit. That is one reason the best purchase is not always the biggest one. It is the one that fits your habits and your floor plan.
The Best Standing Desk is the one you can use consistently
It is tempting to focus on a desk that looks impressive, but consistency matters more than appearance. A standing setup only helps if you actually use it. That means the controls should be easy to understand, the frame should feel stable, and the transition between sitting and standing should not interrupt your workflow. If adjusting the desk feels annoying, you will probably avoid doing it as often as you should.
Beginners should also think about long-term comfort rather than short-term novelty. A standing workstation is most useful when it supports regular posture changes without creating new problems. That includes enough desk depth for a keyboard and monitor, enough height range for your body, and enough stability that you do not feel like the desk is shifting while you type. A reliable setup becomes part of the routine instead of a task to manage.
The Vernal Standing Desk specs beginners should compare
When you are new to this type of furniture, the specification sheet can feel intimidating. The most useful details, however, are easy to remember. Start with height range. The desk should lower enough for comfortable seated work and raise enough for a relaxed standing posture. Then look at load capacity, because your monitors, accessories, and laptop all add weight. A desk that carries too little can become unstable or wear out faster.
Also check the movement system. Smooth adjustment is easier to live with than a mechanism that feels stiff, noisy, or unpredictable. Finally, consider the control panel. Simple buttons and memory options can make a large difference in daily use. A well-designed system should reduce friction, not create it. The easier it is to reach your ideal position, the more likely you are to keep using it correctly.
The Height Adjustable Desk and posture fit
ReplyDeleteA major reason people buy a flexible workstation is to improve posture. But posture does not improve just because the desk can move. You still need the height to match your body. When standing, your elbows should rest near your sides with your forearms level and wrists relaxed. When sitting, your feet should stay supported and your keyboard should not force your shoulders upward.
Finding the right position can take a little testing, but the effort pays off. If the desk is too high, your neck and shoulders will notice. If it is too low, your back and wrists may do extra work. A good fit should feel neutral and comfortable, allowing you to focus on the task instead of your posture. For a beginner, that comfort is one of the strongest signs that the desk is working properly.
The Electric Adjustable Desk makes movement easier to repeat
Convenience matters more than many people expect. If switching heights takes too long or feels awkward, it is easy to fall back into one position for hours. An electric system solves that problem by making transitions quick and nearly effortless. That can be especially useful for beginners who are still building the habit of alternating throughout the day.
Quick movement also helps with energy. Instead of waiting until you feel stiff or restless, you can adjust before discomfort becomes a distraction. This is one of the easiest ways to make a standing routine sustainable. A simple button press can replace a lot of hesitation, and that makes the whole experience more usable from the start.
The Standing L Desk is worth considering if you multitask often
If your work involves multiple screens, paperwork, or separate task zones, a corner layout can be very practical. It gives you room to organize the workspace into areas instead of packing everything into one flat stretch. That structure can be especially helpful if you move between computer work and note taking during the day.
A corner setup may also help beginners feel less cramped. The extra surface can make the desk feel more spacious and easier to sort into sections. One side might hold your primary screen while the other holds reference material or a notebook. That kind of layout reduces the need to keep moving items around, which can make work feel calmer and more efficient.
The Executive Standing Desks offer more room, but not always more value
A larger, more formal workstation can look impressive and provide plenty of space. For some beginners, that is a plus. Extra room can help if you use multiple devices, handle documents often, or want a more polished office look. But more surface area is not always better. A bigger desk can also take up more room, weigh more, and tempt you to spread clutter everywhere.
If you like a more substantial setup, make sure the added size actually matches your work style. The surface should support your tasks without encouraging disorganization. Executive-style desks work best when they feel intentional, not oversized. If the frame is sturdy and the layout is practical, the larger format can feel both professional and comfortable.
The Standing Desk Wood choice affects both style and maintenance
ReplyDeleteMaterial makes a difference in how the desk feels and how it ages. A wood surface can create a warmer, more grounded look, which many people prefer in a home office. It can also make the workspace feel more furniture-like and less industrial. That matters because the emotional feel of the room affects whether you enjoy spending time there.
Material also affects upkeep. Some finishes are easier to clean, while others show wear differently. If you want a surface that looks good over time, think about how often you will wipe it down, whether it will be exposed to drinks or heavy equipment, and how much maintenance you are comfortable doing. A beginner who values low effort may prefer a finish that balances style with durability.
What real users often notice in Vernal Reviews
User feedback can be surprisingly useful when you are trying to choose between models. Reviews often reveal details that product listings do not fully cover. People tend to mention whether the desk is stable at full height, how easy the setup process feels, and whether the controls are intuitive. Those details are especially helpful if you are new to this type of workstation and want to avoid a frustrating first experience.
Reviews can also help you understand how a desk performs after the excitement of the first few days wears off. That longer-term view matters because a good workstation should remain useful after repeated daily use. Look for patterns in comments rather than one isolated opinion. When many people mention the same strength or weakness, that often tells you more than the marketing copy does.
What beginners should ask before buying
Before you choose a desk, ask yourself a few simple questions. How much room do I have? How often will I change positions? What equipment will I place on the surface? Do I want a simple model or a more advanced one? Will the desk be used by one person or shared by several people? The answers to those questions will narrow your options quickly and help you avoid paying for features you do not need.
It also helps to think ahead. A desk that seems good enough now might not feel right once your workflow changes. If you expect to add a monitor, printer, or additional accessories later, choose a setup that leaves room for growth. That way your workstation can adapt as your needs change instead of forcing you to buy again sooner than expected.
Buying your first standing desk does not need to be overwhelming. Focus on fit, stability, ease of use, and long-term comfort. If those basics are right, the desk will be much more likely to support your daily routine and make work feel better from the start.
